Toon Time with Cartoon Camera!
We all dreamt of being a cartoon heroine way back when. We had our fleeting delusions of being Popeye, Captain Planet, the blokes from Voltes V, the flimsy from-rags-to-riches-Disney-princesses and whatnot. Even now, when cartoon characters include an animated cheese-looking sponge and an exploring Dora, we still have this weird inkling of becoming animated and enjoying animation.
Now, turning yourself into a cartoon and sharing it to the world is just one app away. Get animated with for Android and see yourself turn into a posterized chap or a sketchy comic book superhero in just one tap.
Cartoon Camera is a new app developed by for Android. It allows you to animate your photos through six different filters such as: Cartoon, Color Drawing, Sepia, White Strokes, Dark Strokes and Colored Edges. The good thing about the app is that it filters the photos in real-time. The color and sensitivity settings are also adjustable which makes for a vivid and more cartoonish result. Share your animated photos through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and start writing your own comic book for a good chuckle. The cartoon-style result allows you to get zanier while taking photos of yourself and your friends. Who knows, this app might actually tame your narcissistic pleasure of over-indulging with taking pictures of yourself at arm’s length.
Features:
• 6 effects: Cartoon, Color Drawing, Sepia, White Strokes, Dark Strokes, Colored Edges
• Enables flash
• Adjustable edge strength and sensitivity settings
• Adjustable color settings
• Supports zoom and autofocus
• App can be installed to SD
Yay!
• Applies filters in real-time
• Quick saving
• Photo sharing
• It’s always good when it’s FREE!
Nay.
• Gadgets with front cameras require a bit of effort but, hey, you’d do anything for a photo op right?!
Toony tidbit: The Cartoon Camera icon was first drawn and colored on paper using coloring pens, and then it was photographed using the Cartoon Camera app itself. Nice.
Jango approves!
This app is no paper camera or instagram, but it’s still a nice addition to the growing photo-editing and sharing apps of the world. I like this. This is cool, childish even. And nothing beats free.
