App Review: ABC Phonics Word Family- preschool kindergarten reading skill
We all want our child to become a proficient reader as they grow and develop. However, teaching them (especially those in preschool years) how to pronounce words properly is not an easy assignment for they are exposed to various distractions such as playing games, watching television, and other activities.
For all we know, parents often search for helpful materials that will contribute to the education of their little ones. It is also important for parents to carefully specify and filter all the resources their youngsters are using because they can be easily influenced by the things they obtain.
Amongst the countless educational applications available in the App Store, AbiTalk’s instructive app for preschool called stands out.
Delve further to know more about the distinct app for kids.
Today’s Lesson
Not all lessons are interesting and attention-grabbing, children see, listen, and read until they seamlessly absorb the entire idea by heart. The only question is, for how long will it take them to understand?
With ABC Phonics Word Family, kids will have the unique opportunity to independently exercise their reading skills while correcting their pronunciation further. You heard it right! The aim is to give children limitless learning experience and total independence by patterning the app on Montessori Method- an educational approach developed by Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori.
It is a guaranteed app that encourages pre-schooler to practice their listening skills, help them determine the right spelling of words, and give them exclusive training on proper word pronunciation through word phonics spelling, beginning sounds, and others. The app is divided into four sets such as Short Vowels, Silent ‘E’ and Long Vowels, Two Vowels, and Three Letters Word Families with a total of fifty-six word family groups to answer.
Each set contains two fun-play exercises that will test the child’s ability like “Make the word to match the picture” by choosing the correct letter to complete the word as shown in the image and “Drag the word to match the picture” which is similar to connect the word to its exact picture. There are four pictures in every exercise with well-articulated narration, if in case the child thinks the problem is difficult to answer, they can tap the hint option for solutions. Apart from that, young ones can either choose from capital or lowercase if they want the result to be capitalize or not.
Of course, in each accomplishment a corresponding award will be given to our little achievers, a perky dinosaur will appear once they successfully completed the exercise and a sparkling diamond suddenly comes out from the screen instead of stars. Just to give you a clue, drag the word is the continuation of make the word making a child adapt and remember what he or she is doing.
Children can visit the gallery anytime to check the dinosaurs.
Learning Is F.U.N.
First, I would like to acknowledge AbilTalk for developing a specific application for pre-schooler. The developer exactly knows how important education is to people and it is indeed an effective educational app that has a direct goal in cultivating minds.
I must say that the narration perfectly fits the app; it is very clear and remarkable though I only have one observation with regards to some of the images used, I think they are a bit confusing for me. It will be more appealing if they use vibrant images just to enhance the visuals of the app and for clearer illustrations.
However, I would not mind spending money for this one because education and fun experience of our children is far important than anything else.
The developer of ABC Phonics Word Family now offers wide range of mobile and online learning apps like reading, phonics, languages, and even arithmetic depending on the education level of the child.
Don’t let your child miss the fun of learning with AbiTalk’s other products.
