Fido’s Treehouse Scavenger Hunt: Develop Your Child’s Curiosity!
Scavenger hunts have been part of kids’ lives for decades. It’s considered as a way to add a bit of flair to any event. And now that technology has advanced, the popular hunt has gotten a modern day renovation.
A lot of kids actually, as parents could likely attest to, have a natural urge to explore– which is easily satiated by various hunting games. Kids love to figure out mysteries and uncover items– be it an elusive pot of gold or Easter eggs. Yeah, been there than that. But lucky are those of this generation, for they can easily access the game via smartphones and tablets.
Look no further, kids now can play scavenger hunt indoors with just their iOS devices. by Pixel Interactive is an interactive game app where kids can bring out their sense of adventure and creativity. This entertaining app allows kids to experience the enjoyment of a scavenger hunt.
Hunt For Fun
There are two game modes for kids of different ages in the app: The “Free Play” mode for younger children (ages 1-5) and the “challenge Mode” for more advanced children (ages 5-8).
Free Play Mode
In this mode, kids can simply explore the page and interact with the elements within the highly interactive environments– backyard, tree house and park. Most things in this mode can be moved or played with. Kids may sweep floors, make flowers bloom, wake the sleeping dog, make balls bounce, water the plant, etc.
This particular page is pretty much meant for kids be familiar and learn more about each scene on their own.
This contains the same interactive environment but this time, it is where the real “scavenger hunt” begins. This mode challenges your child’s ability to solve puzzles by helping out Fido the monkey in his mission to find a hidden treasure.
Fido sets your kids in an adventure to look for the hidden treasure somewhere in the backyard. Your kids are asked to find the mysterious item that was buried. They just need to follow and decipher the 15 clues (which are randomized) that come in the form of scrolls. Then they must find a specific item or do the task described. Once they’ve completed everything, they’ll find the hidden treasure at the end of the trail.
If ever the kid gets stumped and stuck in the game, hints are available to help them find what they’re looking for.
Explore and Learn!
This app delivered a deliberate design that encourages discovery by kids. Additionally, I commend its kid-friendly interface, excellent visuals and interactivity. However, I find the sound a bit unclear. Nonetheless, it’s impressive in a way that it emphasizes the adventure feel. Indeed, this has a bunch of features that helps build the kids’ problem solving skills, nurtures their enthusiasm and even develops their childhood intelligence whenever they solve each clue.
Although kids can use hints for clues, I find most of it a bit tricky and too vague. Given that, I think it would probably difficult and frustrating for the kids. Good thing is that the devs provided an online walkthrough which parents can access for easy reference. Hence, it’s recommendable if parents guide them since not all clues are voiced plus it requires a lot of reading.
Overall, it’s fun to explore since it has many contents to hold the interest of the kids. It’s well thought out and definitely gives parents the opportunity to teach their kids and bond with them.
So what’s the verdict? is a sure hit among kids who truly enjoy doing some treasure hunt. It’s entertaining enough to keep your youngsters occupied for a while and it’s a great venue for them to indulge their curiosity. More so, it gratifies them in a way that it gives them a sense of accomplishment. So, if you’re in a lookout for an activity that you can do at home with the kids, then try this kind of scavenger hunt in a cheaper way yet with loads of entertainment.
