MapScratch for iOS: Great App for Travelers
Last month Applatter was able to review DevStorm’s NoIMGdata app. It was an app capable of pinpointing the location from where the image was taken, as well as removing the EXIF data embedded in the image.
This time, let’s take a look at MapScratch, DevStorm’s app that does more than just reveal an image’s geo location. The photo app offers a fun way to discovering the location and finding out where that nice looking beach or exotic plants and wildlife are located.

Turn Images into Digital “Scratch Cards”
If you like scratch cards, then you’ll definitely love MapScratch. This simple tool reveals information literally behind your image of choice. Just download the app, run it, then select the image from your camera roll or other folders. Once you have the image on the screen, just move your finger on the screen to check out the location.
No location data found!
If you digitally scratch the entire image on the screen, you get to reveal the different features available on MapScratch. You can choose to use a different image, download other apps from DevStorm, show the recently used image, show the same image’s EXIF data and even visit Google maps. To check out the map location, just make sure to allow the app to use Location Services.
What Applatter Loves
MapScratch is fun to use as it offers a very simple, easy to use interface to make it easy for any user to upload images and reveal their exact geo location. Full EXIF info can also be viewed quickly, and the time and date when the picture was taken can be viewed using the app as well.
MapScratch is compatible with various iOS devices, too! It can be used with an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, 3rd – 5th generation iPod touch devices and the iPad as long as they have iOS 4.3 or later.

Bottom Line
DevStorm’s photo tool is fun and easy to use. For $1.99, the app does a pretty good job at revealing any image’s geo location. The app is perfect for images showing great landscapes and exotic cities. Interested travelers can get a kick out of this application!
Do bear in mind, though: For deleting sensitive information from your images, download DevStorm’s NoIMGdata app which is available for iPhone, iPod, iPad and Mac.
